Hi peeps, hoping some advice can help me. 2012 mk3 focus 1.6L diesel model. Engine is running rough / mis-firing, engine management light came on, I checked and cleared the fault codes with my ForScan and the EML cleared but the car was still undriveable as still mis-firing.

Yes, that is the EGR valve. The piece you can see with the barcode is the stepper motor, and the valve is directly underneath. I can't see anything to suggest this is illegal in the UK. The consensus seems to be that on a diesel engine nobody will notice/care. The MAF is actually under the label in the original diagram. See the updated one below.

Engine wise my Mondeo has done 121k with only servicing, a warranty covered mod to the aux belt (actually out of warranty though covered under a Ford TSB) and a goodwill from dealer reprog of one injector at about 70k. Engine system fault appears on dash and car in safe mode but no engine management light except on turning on the ignition the fault appears before starting and the little red light that should go off on starting remains on 9 times out of 10 if I turn on and start. No delay then no fault appears. No codes appear ??
